Being Salty
In my conversation with the Lord today, I was studying in the book of Matthew and I heard Holy Spirit say: Fon, you are the salt of the earth.
That’s Matthew 5:13:
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has lost its taste (purpose), how can it be made salty? It is no longer good for anything, but to be thrown out and walked on by people [when the walkways are wet and slippery]. (Amplified Translation)
“You are the world’s seasoning, to make it tolerable. If you lose your flavor, what will happen to the world? And you yourselves will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. (The Living Bible Translation)
“Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage. (The Message Bible Translation.
As I wrote down what I heard Holy Spirit say, He also said to me: Don’t lose your purpose. Don’t lose your seasoning.
Colossians 4:6 says: Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man.
Now the world slang for being salty is defined as being irritated, angry, resentful, upset over something, unreasonable.
That made me think about this question: WHAT KIND OF SALTY AM I BEING? WHAT KIND OF SALTY ARE YOU BEING?
Salt is a preservative. As followers of Christ we are to preserve both the gospel message and Christ’s values in this secular world.
Are you being salty for Christ today?
I just love my conversations with the Lord…don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
