Details vs Big Picture...Which Are You Trusting?

WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

Don’t focus on the details when I have already given you the vision!

This morning is the first day back at school for the kids and I am so excited!! Being an entrepreneur and a full-time Mom is one of those jobs where if you had shown me the details, I probably would have said, Nah..I will pass. It’s not that I don’t love my kids or my work, it’s just that if you had shown me ALL THE DETAILS OF THE RESPONSIBILITY, I would have told you that I didn’t believe I was cut out for the jobs. But thanks be to God that we don’t ever get all the details, He only shows us the bigger picture!

This morning I woke up to praise and worship music. As I laid in the bed for a minute to just listen to the words and sing along on the parts I knew, I felt the goodness of God. One of the songs that really ministered to my heart this morning, so much so, that I am still humming it now is in fact titled Goodness of God. This song really allows me to worship because it says exactly what I feel in my heart. My favorite lyrical lines of the song: Your goodness is running after me. I have known you as a father. I have known you as a friend. All my life, you have been faithful. I give you everything. With my life laid down, I’m surrendered now!

I was opening the curtains this morning and there is a tree that looks like a gigantic nest in my neighbor’s backyard that hangs over my fence. The birds absolutely love this tree. I always see so many different kinds of birds flying around or just sitting. This morning I saw two bluejays (at least that’s what species I thought they were) and there was another gray colored bird that kept chasing one of the bluejays. Every time the bluejay would fly to a new branch, the gray bird would follow. They did this over and over, as I just stared out of my window. The Holy Spirit said, you’re the bluejay and I’m the gray bird. I will chase after you. I will run after you. No matter where you try to go, I am running after you!!

I realized the Lord gave me a visual of the song, Goodness of God!! His goodness is running after me. The Lord will run after you!! He knows who He created and what you are capable of, and He won’t let you go from branch to branch in this life without Him. In Deuteronomy 31:6, it says He will never leave us nor forsake us. I am so thankful for that this morning! He will always chase after me, but I am even more thankful that I am no longer running.

This morning, I was praying specifically about a situation and the Lord said this to me:

Things happen the way they do so I can see if you really trust me like you say. It’s easy to trust me when things are going along fine in your life. But will you trust me when all hell breaks loose? Will you trust me when you see things going opposite of the direction of my promise to you? Will you trust me when I reposition you? Will you trust me when I give you only one way to do it?

Trusting me means not knowing how it will turn out, but knowing in your heart that I am in full control regardless.

Don’t focus on the day to day details when I have already given you the vision!

Keep going back to what I said and what I showed you. Don’t get weary in waiting. Don’t get tired in tending to my business. What I said WILL BE. Nothing else you hear or see that is counter to what I already said, matters. It may look like or feel like a big deal, but it’s really a detail. Remember that I already worked out every single detail. And my working it all out, will be done MY WAY so that I can get the glory.

You won’t always understand why I send you that route or detour you this way. Just know, YOU WILL GET TO YOUR DESTINation!

Do you trust what I told you?

Keep the faith. Don’t give up. It’s all part of the plan.

Keep your eyes on ME…the BIGGER PICTURE!
