WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING
This morning, I have to first give thanks to God for wow-ing me once again. If you read yesterday’s blog, I ended it with telling you about a doctor’s appointment I had. Three months ago I was in pain and went to the doctor and was told I had a cyst. I prayed for complete healing and believed I was healed. Yesterday I went in for the follow up and no trace of the cyst y’all! You hear me!! Not a trace! It didn’t reduce in size, God took it completely away!! I was praising God and even got an Amen and a high-five from the ultrasound technician named Tracy!! She was rejoicing too because I told her when I laid down that she wasn’t going to find it. God had healed me! How many of you are speaking what God said before you even see it? Do it! Speak the victory over your situation to others and watch Him show them what faith is!
I was praising God on that doctor table and thanking Him for keeping His word, showing His hand, and just thanking Him for being the Healer that He is!! Hallelujah!
This morning, unlike most of my mornings, my focus has been a bit all over the place. I got up to pray around 5:55 a.m. and I felt a bit rushed because I knew I got up later than I should have. But I still prayed over an hour and got the kids off to school. Thank God this was one of those mornings where they just did what they were supposed to do without any pushing from me. That’s a shout moment right there if you’re a parent!!
But during my prayer time, I didn’t write anything down in my journal this morning. I read the word and shared a scripture with a family member via text that I felt God told me to share. I answered a few text messages. And then I sat down to the computer to write this blog. I honestly didn’t know what to write. So I paused and prayed, “Lord, speak to me.” I felt like I was rushing God, but then I relaxed and reminded myself that God is in control. As I sat here with nothing on my journal page other than the book of Eccelesiastes, I heard the title, Diversified Obedience.
In Ecclesiastes 11:6 (which happens to be my birthday…November 6), in my bible, it says: be sure to stay busy and plant a variety of crops, for you never know which will grow - perhaps they all will.
That’s exactly how I felt this morning doing various tasks. I felt like I needed to answer the text. I felt like I needed to send the scripture text. The prayer text. The encouragement text. The instructional text. Normally, I am super focused on the blog and won’t even answer a text or do anything other than sit and write. But this morning, I felt like every text I sent was a seed that I was planting. The scripture said plant a variety of seeds/crops. That’s exactly what diversified obedience is. I was being obedient to what God was calling me to do in every text that I sent out. Nope, it wasn’t the normal routine of my morning, but I believe God is showing me that even my morning obedience will be diversified. The key is to fear Him and obey his commands.
I can still be consistent even through diversified obedience.
This word is for me this morning y’all and I am so thankful to the Holy Spirit for speaking to me as I write! Every time I feel like I didn’t do something exactly right, I am reminded that it’s about purpose, not perfection. It’s about consistent obedience, but even in that consistency, the Holy Spirit can mix it up. I hear the Holy Spirit saying…you are not just going to plant one type of seed Fon. You will plant whatever seed I put in your hand. Your relationship with me is all you need, to plant every one of these different kinds of seeds.
Praise God!!
