Don't Delay the Promise!

I want to kick off today’s blog and podcast episode with a few reminders!

  1. ALL OF GOD’S PROMISES ARE YES and AMEN!!

  2. TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART!

  3. TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR SOUL!

  4. TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH!

  5. DON’T LEAN ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING.

  6. IT’S GOD’S BREATH IN YOUR LUNGS, SO USE IT TO GLORIFY AND PRAISE HIM!

  7. HIDE GOD’S WORD IN YOUR HEART!

Just a few reminders to encourage you this morning! Read them again if you find yourself forgetting.

As I was praying this morning and thinking about the celebration of the birth of Jesus in this season, I heard myself saying: Lord, may our lives be a season of celebrating you. What I felt in my spirit was, may we not just celebrate Jesus during Christmas, but may our lives always represent the celebration of our Savior!

Alright, so this morning we are reading Hebrews 10 for our Scriptural Bible Study, and I have to admit, that I may need to go back and read it more. I felt a bit rushed this morning because I didn’t do my early rise for prayer. I did pray and worship when I woke up though. No matter what time I wake up, I will seek first the Kingdom go God. But back to Hebrews. This chapter is focused on Jesus Christ as the perfect sacrifice.

A few of Dr. Tony Evans study notes really stood out to me and I want to share them here with you. Things that tend to stand out usually hit me in a special way when I read them:

  • By trusting in the saving power of Christ’s death and resurrection, we have been sanctified (verse 10). That means we have been set apart for God’s purposes and glory. We have been set apart to be Christ’s kingdom companion and to live our lives in submission to his lordship and kingdom agenda.

  • God put his laws in our heart. That means His standard is within us, which is why we experience conviction when we sin and break his law. As we grow in our Christian faith, we become more aware of the fact that we all fall short of God’s standard, but we should increase in our desire to obey Him.

  • Access has been granted to us through the blood of Jesus, to enter into God’s presence. And in His presence, there is freedom! No guilt or shame when we enter into God’s presence.

  • We are to draw near to God with a true heart in full assurance of faith. After all, Jesus has already dealt with the things we are ashamed to discuss. God knows our issues, and He’s dealt with our problems.

  • We never have to beat around the bush in prayer. Be real with the Father.

  • Boldness in drawing near to God is critical for avoiding divine discipline associated with the willfully sinning.

  • If we persist willfully in the very sin for which Christ died to set us free, we are trampling on the SON OF GOD and insulting the spirit of grace. God will not ignore this!

  • We receive what was promised to us AFTER we have done the Lord’s will.

  • The longer obedience takes, the longer it takes for the promise to be fulfilled.

  • If we want to experience Christ’s pleasures NOW on earth, and when He comes back, then we must keep moving forward, press on to maturity (solids), and live by faith!

  • We became Christians by faith, and we can only live the Christian life by faith!

Let’s keep encouraging one another (verse 25) to live by faith!

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
