Frustrated But Undaunted
Have you ever been excited in one or more areas of your life and frustrated with a few other areas of your life? Well this morning as I was reading John 16:33 AMPC, Holy Spirit gave me some encouragement and a firm reminder.
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] — John 16:33 AMPC
Two words that constantly stand out to me as a I stand on this verse daily (multiple times a day really), are the words: frustrated and undaunted.
Per the Oxford Dictionary on Google, frustrate means to prevent (a plan or attempted action) from progressing, succeeding, or being fulfilled. Synonyms for the word includes: block, impede, stand in the way of, cripple, thwart, foil, derail. We have all had some situations in our lives that have done this right?
While on one hand, I have been enjoying the excitement of launch my latest obedience project: The 1 Hour Prayer Challenge Book & Journal (grab your signed copy today), there are other things going on that are trying to block me, stand in the way of, thwart, and derail me.
But John 16:33! I love the amplified classic translation because the Holy Spirit used it this morning in our conversation. He said: Remember I have overcome the world already. I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you Fon (put your name in the scripture).
Deprive means to deny a person or place the possession or use of something. The Lord has denied the world possession of me. The Lord has denied the world the power to harm me. And not just that…He has conquered it for me (for us)!!
This scripture confirms that we will have some frustrations in this life, BUT! Can you say, BUT? The scripture says but be of good cheer. Be undaunted! Y’all know I am a bit of a word nerd, so it was the undaunted for me! In culture people have used the term unbothered and honestly that’s a lie because we sho’nuff be bothered by the stuff.
But undaunted though! Yeah, I’ll take undaunted! It means not intimidated or discouraged by difficulty, danger, or disappointment. Synonyms include: unafraid, unalarmed, unflinching, fearless, bold, valiant, brave, courageous, lionhearted, and confident!
Be encouraged this morning that whatever you are dealing with, God already dealt with it! Stand in that truth and let it build your faith so that you can move about your day UNDAUNTED!
P.S. I just love my Conversations With God! Don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
