WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

Sometimes we can get caught up in the speed by which things happen. Some things seem to take forever, while we can often be shocked at how fast some thing else happens. This is called PACE.

This morning, I woke up in the 3:00 hour. I tried to go back to sleep after a potty break, but I was still awake. I didn’t go immediately to the prayer closet. I grabbed my phone and looked at some videos about fixing my truck. It was something that I had planned to do yesterday, but got distracted. After I looked at the videos, I tried to go back to sleep. But I couldn’t. So I turned on the TV to watch a short sermonic video. I then tried to go back to sleep again. As I laid there, I felt my body shake. It was as if the Lord had to shook me to say, it’s time to get out of bed and go pray. I got up and went to the prayer closet and prayed some mighty prayers. Here’s what I heard the Lord say:

Pace
Pace of Preparation
Don’t quit.
Don’t get ahead of me.
Stay at my pace.
Stay in alignment with My Will.
Don’t get tired or weary at this pace.
Trust My pace.
My grace and my pace are sufficient.

As I heard this, I got a bit emotional. My prayer is always to not get ahead of God. But also to not quit or slow down on God either. I prayed:

Lord help me to only slow down when you want me to slow down.
Lord help me to only speed up when you want me to speed up.
Lord help me to only maintain speed when you want me to maintain speed.

The only way we can stay at God’s pace is to stay in God’s face. That’s the only way we can hear Him say slow down, speed up, maintain speed. But the key is also trusting His pace. Sometimes there are things that we want to happen right now. For me, it’s getting a new vehicle. My truck has a few issues, but I know if I just stay in God’s face, everything that I need will happen at His pace and it will be blessed with His favor.

God is the greatest orchestrator of time and when you think back over your life in how He created divine collisions where you were at the right place at the right time to get exactly what you needed; when you reflect, you realize that His pace is always best.

I believe the Lord has been preparing me this entire year for what’s coming next. Have I felt things going slower than I would have done it myself, YES! But when I say I trust the Lord and I want to do His will and His plan for my life, then I intentionally lose track of the time. Trusting God means actually trusting His timing and His pace. Surrendering your pace for His pace puts you in alignment with His will. And that’s exactly where I want to be.

For the scriptural surprise this morning, I read Luke 3. In this chapter, it talks about the genealogy of Jesus Christ. Now trying to pronounce all those names was kind of hard, but what really stood out for me was PACE. In the book of Luke, Jesus’s genealogy was traced back to Adam. There was a pace and a timing that God set up for Jesus way back in Genesis 3:15. Again, I could hear the Lord saying, “My pace is always perfect for My plans.” We must always trust the pace, preparation, and plan of our Lord and Savior.
