How To Seek God's Guidance and Direction Daily!

MY CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD

Welcome to the OABG Daily Blog and Podcast!

You ever had a lot going on in your life and felt like if I don’t get organized or get myself together, I am going to miss something critical. This morning, I prayed not to miss what God was doing in this season in my life. I prayed not to be distracted by anything that wasn’t God. I prayed that I would know what to do and when to do it. That my day-to-day would be in alignment with God. I encourage you today to pray for whatever area in your life where you need guidance or direction. God is ready to hear you and answer you.

Today as I read the 20th chapter of Proverbs for our Scriptural Bible Study, these were the scriptures that stood out and gave me guidance and direction:

  1. Alcohol consumption is not completely condemned in the Bible, but drunkenness is! I stopped drinking alcohol pretty much completely in 2019. I had been drinking it to drown my pain and sorrows away verses depending on God. When I read this, it made me realize that alcohol itself is not bad, but when you’re under the influence of the spirits that you’re drinking, you’re making alcohol be your god verses your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

  2. The choices that I make every single day (big or small) affect my two kids. This is why it is so important to seek God in every decision you make.

  3. By trusting in the righteousness of Jesus and being led by the Holy Spirit, we can pursue lives that are in alignment with God’s standards. Now you may read that and be like, how can I be led by the Holy Spirit? You must commit to spending time with Him, getting to know Him, and hearing from Him on a daily basis. You can’t be led when you’re not in position to be led.

  4. The influence of the Holy Spirit helps you make sensible decisions.

  5. A reputation is cultivated over time.

  6. A lazy person loves sleep, so get up if you don’t want to be poor (Proverbs 20:13).

  7. Be discerning and don’t believe everything you hear. We must go to God about everything and not just assume what we were taught is God or what we have subscribed to over the course of our lives is even righteous living. We must SEEK Him to know and not just assume anything.

  8. Indulging in sin, no matter how sweet it is, leads to unpleasant consequences. And this is why I am celibate because when I wasn’t it led to unpleasant consequences! But it takes the strength and power of the Holy Spirit to retrain your desires and renew your mind. But you CAN DO IT! With God all things are possible, including living a righteous and holy lifestyle.

  9. Don’t engage in an activity without doing wise planning which includes getting some sound guidance. Seek wise counsel. People whom you know have a real relationship with the Lord, not religious people. I’m talking about relationship with the Lord kind of people. You can tell the difference if you have a relationship with Him yourself.

  10. Be skilled at financial management. Dr. Myles Munroe said whatever you don’t manage, you lose. I know this to be true. Whenever I don’t manage my money or my time, I lose it. And with time, I can never get it back.

  11. Leave vengeance in the hands of the Lord.

  12. Don’t fall into the trap of making promises to God before you think!

This journey that we are on y’all must be one where we are being led by the Lord in everything we do. We can’t just be out here doing whatever, while saying we want to live a righteous life. To live a righteous life, we have to get knowledge about it, understand how to live it, and then be wise enough to do it, knowing that it can only be done WITH GOD.

SALVATION PRAYER

If you’re not a believer and have a desire to be, openly confess and declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer out loud, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community and start having a conversation through prayer with God every day. And let me be the first to welcome you to your new life with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. YAAAAY!!!!! You made the best decision you could ever make! Feel free to email me at info@onassignmentbyGod.com and let me know about your newfound life or if you need prayer for anything.
