You ARE Making A Difference!
WHAT DID MY LORD GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING?
My Daily Conversations With God
Are you excited about it being the weekend? I know many of us are still learning how to weekend because all the days are still running together for many of us! Some people have returned to work, and others of us who work from home are learning how to navigate the new normal. Our God is faithful and He will sustain us like nothing or no one else can.
This morning I wrote out a prayer. This week was full of highs and lows and I wanted to pray specifically about somethings that I have been waiting on the Lord to do. As I was about to utter those prayers, I realize that those things, some material and some relational, would never compare to what my Lord and Savior can give me. Here is the prayer I prayed:
Lord, I pray for peace, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and joy. I recognize that nothing or no one can bring me those things BUT YOU. I only want them from you because I know they will last because you are eternal. I recognize that no amount of money, no personal relationship, no material thing can match what only YOU can give Me. Thank you Lord for answering my prayers. Amen.
After I prayed that prayer, I went to do my morning prayers from my Prayers that Rout Demons book and opened it to a page where I had previously circled the following: Let me be amazed at YOUR Power (Luke 9:43). I even made up a little song repeating over and over…Let me be amazed Your Power Lord. I went all over the house singing it and ended up at the coffee machine to grab a cup.
And they were all astonished at the greatness of God. Luke 9:43
With coffee in hand, I sat at my desk and flipped open my Bible for the Scriptural Surprise and landed in Luke 8. And of course, the Holy Spirit amazed me again with his confirmation power. I had already been in this chapter of Luke and there were two things highlighted: Luke 8:44 and Luke 8:50, but guess what else I saw? Luke 8:56. I am only going to show you what was HIGHLIGHTED from the verse.
Instantly her bleeding stopped. Luke 8:44
When Jesus heard it, he answered him…” Luke 8:50
Her parents were astounded… Luke 8:56
I was sooo encouraged when I saw these scriptures y’all! Then of course I landed on a scriptural page with a feature story AGAIN. That’s been happening quite a bit this week. The Holy Spirit knew I needed real life application. The feature story today was: When You Hit Rock Bottom (listen to the podcast to hear me read the story).
As I sat and listened to the Holy Spirit, he told me:
Don’t get caught up in metrics. If I leave the 99 for the one, you are to have peace about making a difference to just one. That one person matters to Me more than a bunch of metrics.
You ARE making a difference.
Write down what keeps distracting you, so we can address it specifically!
No matter what you’re doing, if you’re on assignment by God, you ARE making a difference. I definitely needed to hear that today. How about you?
