This morning was a cozy morning with The Father. It was refreshing, relaxing, and reassuring. I realized that the more time I spend with our Father God, the more I feel the character of Him being our loving and caring Father. The more I feel like a King’s kid.

Lately, my daughter is on this thing where she loves to be in the kitchen. I should be excited because it is literally answered prayer of generational chains being broken. Okay, not really generational chains, more like I just hope she likes to be in the kitchen more than me and my Mom. LOL! LOL! My Mom cooked for us as kids but I knew she didn’t just love being in the kitchen. And the thing is, as a Mom, I now see why. LOL! But I am working on it y’all because once I get in there and get going, I actually enjoy it. I think it’s the same for my Mom too because she will go on these cooking sprees and cook up a bunch of stuff.

Well last night my daughter wanted to prepare my avocado and in the process of cutting it, she cut her hand a little bit. It scared her because of an incident last year where she cut her foot pretty bad. Why am I telling you this story? It was in the moment of ME being a loving and caring Mom and her just relaxing in my arms that I realized that we all STILL need that reassurance. And that’s exactly what I felt in the prayer closet this morning, a relaxing, resting, and reassuring moment with the Father.

The Holy Spirit said one thing to me this morning, which at first I was thrown off by, but then I realized that all my mornings with Him aren’t the same and won’t be the same, but HE IS THE SAME GOD yesterday, today, and forever more.

As I laid on the floor of my prayer closet, He said to me simply: I will always guard your heart.

I was led to look for scripture because of how the Holy Spirit said this to me. I knew from Proverbs 4:23 that I am to, above all else, guard my heart, for everything I do flows from it. But there are three scriptures that I found that really spoke to what I believe the Holy Spirit was saying:

My son, give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways. Proverbs 23:26

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

It was the last one that really hit home for me. As I dug a bit deeper and read many different translations, the Bible came alive even more and I got it. You see the verse before that one is Philippians 4:6 which says:

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6

So the Holy Spirit is saying if I do what is in verse 6, don’t be anxious, pray about everything, with thanksgiving, made my requests known to God, THEN…

the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]. Philippians 4:7 Amplified Bible

I just love how the Holy Spirit will break his conversation with me down with His Word so that I totally get it! In looking at the various translations, I saw a word that I had used when describing the feeling I had with the Father this morning…REASSURANCE! As long as I am praying about everything, not worrying about anything, I will have the peace of God, which stands guard over my heart.

WOW!! I am so loved by God! And you are too!
