Release It Lord!

Listen to the podcast version of this blog.

Sometimes in prayer, the Holy Spirit and I just spend time together. I pray and have songs playing and I don’t hear Him speaking. And I what I have learned (which took me a minute) is to recognize that He is simply listening to me. Listening to me sing. Listening to me pray. Listening to me cry out. Listening to me breathe even, because sometimes I am just thinking about where I am in my life right now and how thankful I am to be here.

But I had to come to appreciate Him just listening to me. See when He gave me this assignment to write a blog about our conversation, often times when I didn’t hear Him, I would get nervous about what I would write. Of course, in those moments He really just wanted me to trust Him. He really wanted me to trust that when my fingertips hit the keyboard, He would speak. So I have learned the hard way to just lose control and let Him do what He does. If you look back over this blog, you will see that I have written every single day. I have proof that He won’t leave me hanging on the assignment He gave me.

And speaking of not leaving me hanging, for our Scriptural Bible Study, we are reading Deuteronomy 31 today and my favorite verse is 8.

The Lord is the one who will go before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8 CSB

I went back to sleep this morning after I prayed and listened to the 31st chapter of Deuteronomy. I still had not heard a specific word from God because for whatever reason, I sometimes be seeking more than the scripture. Even though the scripture that stands out IS HIM speaking to me.

But when I woke back up after prayer time and I was just laying there, I heard the Holy Spirit say: “Prepare for the reception.” Now that made me jolt. I was like huh? Prepare for the reception Lord? I started trying to remember what the word reception meant and while I was thinking, He continued: “I am releasing it because you asked, so prepare to receive.”

Yall, first of all. I am like, OMG OMG OMG! Yesterday while fasting, I prayed a prayer asking for all that has been delayed because of the spirit of delay, to be released to me NOW! I stood on Matthew 15:28 and confessed it: My faith is great so let it be done for me as I want. And from that moment, whatever I asked God for happened!

So I got up and looked up the word reception because I have asked for several things. LOL.

Reception means: 1) the action or processing of receiving something. 2) a formal social occasion held to welcome someone or to celebrate a particular event. A function

Prepare means: make ready; be willing to do something.

Now I can take these instructions and run with them!! I can’t let doubt, fear, or what I don’t see, stop me from having the faith to take action and prepare for the reception. You may be like, is it a function or receiving something that you are preparing for? And my response to you is…ALL OF IT!!! I am preparing in faith for all of it because if God said it, I believe it! All you can do is…come into agreement. Follow these same instructions for yourself. And most of all…Stay Tuned!

P.S. The Holy Spirit also just reminded me to go and read Matthew 25:1-13, the parable of the 10 Virgins to see what it means to be ready!!
