Resetting Conversations with God

I struggled to get out of bed this morning. Lately I have been feeling like I am pushing harder to get up. I started praying in bed and was wrestling with being in the bed praying.

While in the bed, I discerned the voice of God saying: Be where you’re supposed to be but even if you’re not, I’m still with you.

Well I got on up! But it was one of those…ohh-wee-I am-tired type of get up.

When I got to the prayer closet, I talked to the Lord about feeling like I was a battery that wasn’t fully charged. I feel like I’ve been operating on partial charge.

I discerned Holy Spirit saying to me: Rest, Reset, but don’t give up.

The scripture about not getting weary in well doing came to mind:

“We must not become tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time. We must not give up!” — ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:9‬‬ ICB

I also looked up renewed strength and was led to Isaiah 40:30 but it was the Message translation for me this morning!!

“Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying, “God has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me”?

Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? God doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath.

And he knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts.

For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall.

But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.” — ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:27-31‬‬ MSG

The two parts that really encouraged me were:

  1. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts.

  2. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.

Now I wouldn’t consider myself a dropout, but I do get tired. This morning I repented for thoughts that didn’t line up with doing my assignment out of relationship with God.

See sometimes we can be super disciplined and do our assignments out of routine or religion. I don’t ever want to do it religiously. I want to always be doing my assignment relationally! Because I love the Lord and I love the relationship we have. He’s faithful to me and I always want to be faithful to Him, but I recognize that my heart has to be righteous not religious! Hope that makes sense.

So this morning and throughout the day, I’m going to seek the Lord even on how to rest and reset, so I can be fully charged for Him!

Amen!

What do you need to just say out loud to the Lord? Don’t hold back. He wants you to start conversation with Him about whatever it is!

P.S. I just love my resetting conversations with the Lord…don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
