Stop Rushing!
Do you always feel like you’re rushing? What about when you’re spending time with the Lord? I know that’s been me sometimes. I feel like I am rushing through my assignments to get to the next thing. Or even when I with my kids, I am rushing to finish this or that.
Sometimes I am rushing to an appointment because I have not used my time wisely. Or I am rushing to get the blogcast done before the publishing deadline. I am rushing to know what I need to be doing next. Truth be told, I be rushing God even in our conversations!!! I be wanting Him to answer me quickly all the time. YIKES! That’s a real revelation for me to slow it down, huh?
I can just see God looking like: Why you rushing Me? I know everything and if you would slow down so I can share what I know, you wouldn’t be rushing for Me to answer that prayer request NOW. So trust My timing daughter.
As we kick off a new month (welcome to June 2021), this morning I heard Holy Spirit say to me: I will expedite, you don’t have to. Don’t rush with Me. Rest with Me.
Of course I needed some scripture so that I can stand on because y’all know we can hear God so clearly and then act like we forgot that He told us to slow down when we get into a seemingly hurried situation.
Here’s how we can remind ourselves to stop rushing and rest with God because He has perfect timing:
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. — 2 Peter 3:9 ESV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. — Philippians 4:6 ESV
Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way. — Proverbs 19:2 ESV
The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. — Proverbs 21:5 ESV
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” — Psalm 46:10 ESV
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: — Ecclesiastes 3:1 ESV
Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. — Hebrews 4:11 ESV
And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. — Mark 1:35 ESV
Be encouraged this morning to stop rushing and rest in the presence of the Lord. We won’t miss anything that’s ours. Plus there is a peace in His presence that we ALL need as we daily live our most purposeful lives.
P.S. I just love my Conversations With God! Don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
