The Lord Is Speaking, But Are You Listening?

What a morning! I got up slowly but surely this morning y’all! See I am at a point now where getting up to pray is just not an option. Matter of fact, the more sleepy I feel, the more I KNOW I need to get there even quicker. I don’t know if it was those ten push ups I did right before bed or the rain coming down, but I was sleeping so good this morning. LOL!
So what did the Holy Spirit say to me this morning:
Focus on the task at hand.
Take heed to the warnings.
Take heed to what I am saying to you.
The assignment is the assignment.
Acting like you didn’t hear the assignment doesn’t dismiss you from being responsible for it.
So while I thought I knew what “take heed” meant, I still decided to Google it’s definition:
To mind; to regard with care; to take notice of; to attend to; to observe.
Care; attention.
Notice; observation; regard; attention;
Seriousness; a steady look.
While looking at these definitions, I also found out that there are 273 occurrences of the word “heed” in the Bible in 11 translations! Now this had me digging even deeper because sometimes when the Holy Spirit gives me a word, I don’t always know all that it means. But I do know that He wants me to spend some time with it to get clarification. One thing I know for sure is that He is saying, is to listen to Him during our conversations and pay attention to what He is saying. To focus on what He is telling me to focus on.
This morning I read in Jeremiah 36 in the Scriptural Surprise. What stood out to me was that the Lord came to Jeremiah and told him to take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you. Now of course that stood out to me because this blog is exactly that, me hearing from the Lord and writing down the words that He is speaking to me. What was interesting is that the Lord used Jeremiah to scribe a message that He hoped once heard, would cause the House of Judah to repent once they heard the words (Jeremiah 36:3). Jeremiah had to send someone else named Baruch to read the words on the scroll because he was restricted from entering the temple. When Baruch read the words, the officials were shook and came to the king to tell him about it. But the king ended up burning the scroll and not taking heed to what it said.
What has the Holy Spirit been saying to you that you are ignoring? This morning, I encourage you to take heed to the assignment of the Lord. Take heed to what the Lord is saying to you in this season. Pay attention. Don’t ignore it. Don’t pretend like you don’t hear it. The Lord is speaking, but we have to make sure we are listening and giving attention to what He is saying to us. Why? Because He wants us to turn from our evil ways so He can forgive us. He wants our obedience.

Now in yesterday’s episode I said I couldn’t wait to tell y’all the specifics of how God answered my prayers. One of the things that I thought He would answer didn’t get answered yesterday, but I wasn’t discouraged or deterred, but He did say He was releasing THIS WEEK, and specifically yesterday! Well guess what was released yesterday? A blockage for one of my gifts!! Yes, I had been feeling blocked as a coach and was making every excuse on why I wasn’t coaching anymore, including “waiting on the Lord.”
Well the Lord RELEASED me yesterday and I came out of my office after a coaching call KNOWING that it had been God that had done it. The coaching call I had yesterday was soooo amazing and everything I was saying ended up being confirmation to the coaching client! I have never felt so invigorated and so used by God EVER in my coaching business. I mean never! The Lord RELEASED His anointing on me, which allowed me to coach HIS WAY and deliver the exact message He wanted my client to receive! It was answered prayer for sure! All I want, is to please God with my service to His people.
I am excited to see how He answers today!! I can’t wait to share another answered prayer with you tomorrow! Now you’re like, what if nothing happens? It’s not possible. God already said all I had to do was ask and I did that. Now I wait in faith! I encourage you to do the same on whatever you’re asking God for. But remember to LISTEN to Him and pay attention to what He is saying.
