The Stretch!
Are you the type of person who tries to run a race without stretching? What about stretching before taking a long road trip? What about before you go walking, biking, or just to run errands at the store?
This morning as I was laid out on the floor of the prayer closet, I heard the word: Stretching. I had a vision of me laying on my face and I was being pulled by each arm and each leg.
I kept praying and listening. And when the Lord speaks, we listen.
This morning, I discerned the voice of God saying: You feel like you’re being pulled in all different directions, but that’s Me stretching you in all the directions I’m calling you to. Relax into the stretch.
When I looked up the word “stretch” in the Bible, I saw it a lot in Exodus when God gave Moses instructions. Every time Moses stretched out his hand or staff in obedience, a plague happened!
As I looked more for this word “stretch”, I landed in Acts 4 and this verse really resonated with me.
“So now, Lord, listen to their threats to harm us. Empower us, as your servants, to speak the word of God freely and courageously. Stretch out your hand of power through us to heal, and to move in signs and wonders by the name of your holy Son, Jesus!” — Acts 4:29-30 TPT
I believe the Lord is stretching us to heal and to move in signs and wonders by His name… Jesus!
I love how the children’s Bible translation says it so plainly! It doesn’t include the word stretch, but it says: help us to be brave by showing us your power!!!
“And now, Lord, listen to what they are saying. They are trying to make us afraid! Lord, we are your servants. Help us to speak your word without fear. Help us to be brave by showing us your power; make sick people well, give proofs, and make miracles happen by the power of Jesus, your holy servant.” — The Acts 4:29-30 ICB
We all know that stretching (in the natural) is very uncomfortable, but it helps us to run better (and move better)! The Lord says, this race requires stretching Fon. And it’s your mind that I am stretching the most!
My daughter is learning Latin; and since I homeschool that means I am learning it too! One of the other moms recently asked why Latin because it’s a dead language. Another mom replied that it’s “gymnastics for the brain” and it builds new pathways for the brain.
Some of the assignments God has me on are very uncomfortable. When things get uncomfortable, we want to stop. But God is stretching us so that THROUGH US, His will can be accomplished on the earth. We simply must be surrendered to the stretching!
Glory Hallelujah!!
Stretch Me Lord!

SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
