WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

Did I tell you that every morning you wake up to pray it would be easy? I hope I didn’t tell you that because I don’t want you to be caught off guard when your alarm goes off and you struggle to get up to pray. Every day is not easy, but it’s necessary.

This morning I didn’t arise at 5. It was more like 5:45 and I still prayed for an hour. Now, I am blessed to work from home, so I am able to make adjustments where necessary if I don’t get up at the specific time of 5. If that’s not your situation, be relentless about getting up at your specific time if you don’t have flexibility.

So I got up at 5:45 but I still wrestled with feeling like I was getting up late. Plus I know me and it only takes one time to get off track. Getting off track is exactly what the enemy wants me to do. But I was determined to not let getting up at 5:45 deter me from praying for one hour. I knew once my feet hit the floor, the enemy would be mad, and I enjoy that feeling of pushing through to spend time with the Lord and making the defeated enemy mad (yes the devil is already defeated).

I got up and I prayed for an hour and this is what the Holy Spirit said:

  • Be flexible (Wow!! Now if that isn’t exactly what I needed to hear waking up later than usual).

  • Be ready!

  • Everything you have been going through is preparation for where I am taking you.

  • Trusting me is not worrying about the details. Trusting me is letting go of your plans and surrendering to My plans for you.

The scriptural surprise today comes from the book of Psalms. I read Psalm 131-145!! Yes, that was a lot of Psalms to read but all of them were sooo good and so relevant. The verses that stood out to me were:

When I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me the strength I need. Psalm 138:3 NLT

The Lord will work out his plans for my life - for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. Psalm 138:8 NLT

As you prepare for this amazing week, remember to be ready and be flexible. God will give you the strength and He will work it all out because his faithful love endures forever!
