When You Call...He Will Answer!

Answer me, Lord, out of the goodness of your love;
in your great mercy turn to me.
Do not hide your face from your servant;
answer me quickly, for I am in trouble.Psalms 69:16-17 NIV
Last night when I prayed, I asked the Lord to confirm. And like Gideon did in Judges 6:36-40, I was asking the Lord for a specific sign in the ask. The Lord answered before I even got off my knees!!!!
Then this morning when I opened my Bible during the Scriptural Surprise, I turned to Psalms 69 where verses 16 and 17 stood out because they both had the words: Answer me and Answer me quickly. And I flipped to the next page and saw the sign that I has asked for again (because it had happened so fast last night, I needed another sign). LOL. When you read about Gideon you will see that God wasn’t angry at him for asking for another sign. Don’t let the enemy make you think you can’t ask God again. But you really can.
Then as I was laying on the floor praying on my face in the Spirit, I fell asleep (yes that can totally happen). I begin to dream about my kids. We were at a place with a bunch of people, and they got separated from me and I couldn’t find them. We were in a parking garage and I had not made my way to the car yet, but I was thinking, maybe they were there waiting on me. I was calling their names out loud, and for whatever reason I couldn’t dial the number to my daughter’s cell phone correctly. I kept trying to input her name but I was struggling. It was like my hand was in water as I was typing. I called their names again. I heard a child's voice but it was another kid. It was at that point that I started calling on the name of the Lord. I said, “Help me find my children Lord. Please.” As soon as I called on the name of the Lord, I woke up from the dream. Again, He answered me quickly!
This morning I am encouraged that the Lord has all the answers and He will answer us quickly when we call on Him!
Now prior to going on my face to pray, I had already been praying in the Spirit, and I heard the Holy Spirit tell me there will always be seasons where things may look dead in one season, but will have so much vibrancy in the next season. He said, “I just made it that way.”
For the last few days when I have looked out of my bedroom window, I have been in awe of God’s creation. There is a tree in my neighbor’s yard that is quite big and hangs over into my yard (clears throat). What I saw as a nuisance in one season has been the very thing the Lord used to illustrate His point this morning.
I would wake up and open my curtains and see what seemed like a dead tree. I mean it looked like a bunch of sticks. I would see birds sitting in there, and one day I even said it looked like a big ole bird’s nest. Just sticks. No one single leaf. I thought the tree was dead to be honest. And I was thinking…they need to trim that thing or cut it down.
But I looked out of my window the other morning and saw the most lush green tree ever. I was mesmerized. I was in awe. I was like…WOW GOD! Would you look at that. I mean my neighbors ain’t done nothing to the tree. Not one bit of pruning or anything. Now I don’t know what kind of tree it is, but just imagine a very lush green tree. Like seriously, if a bird landed in the tree now, it would be hard to spot the bird. That’s how lush it is today. That totally proves what God said in our conversation this morning. Things may look dead in one season, but because of the way that He made it, the vibrancy will return.
Let us be encouraged today with the Words from the Lord. We can call on him to answer us quickly…in any season of our lives. And we should, no matter what the situation looks like.
