Reminder: You Have Authority!

On this 18th day of April, in the year of 2020, please remember that YOU HAVE AUTHORITY!
It’s Saturday morning and I am up early praying. Well, I do that every morning, but Saturdays really do feel different for me. It used to be a morning that I slept in. I haven’t done that in over a year and to be honest with you, it feels good to rise early to pray before my household gets moving. The tone has shifted from my kids waking me up talking about they’re hungry to me already being prayed up, and coffee time spent with Jesus. Before 9 a.m., I will have prayed, read the Word, written this blog, recorded the accompanying podcast, marketed to my social media pages, and have it all done in enough time to send out to my listening audience. Who would have thought I would be here? Definitely not me. LOL!
My conversation with Holy Spirit went like this today:
I am with you always.
Rest in the safety of knowing that I am always with you.
Let nothing cause you to fear.
Don’t let anyone overstep the boundaries I set in your life.
Use your authority daily.
Don’t just settle for anything, use your authority in the name of Jesus, for everything.
As the Holy Spirit was talking to me about my authority, I felt it rise up. I looked for scriptures in the Bible on authority and found several. What blew my mind already this morning is that when I opened my Bible for the Scriptural Surprise, I opened it right to Luke 9!!!! Y’all the Holy Spirit can do that every day and it will never get old to me. To randomly open my Bible to a verse about authority after He had a conversation with me about it…MIND BLOWING!! You hear me! MIND BLOWING!!!!!
Check out these verses that back up our authority:
Now Jesus called together the twelve [disciples] and gave them [the right to exercise] power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. Luke 9:1 Amplified
Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you. Luke 10:19 Amplified
And God blessed them [granting them certain authority] and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subjugate it [putting it under your power]; and rule over (dominate) the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28 Amplified
He said to them, “Go everywhere in the world. Tell the Good News to everyone. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. But those who do not believe will be judged guilty. And the people who believe will be able to do these things as proof: They will use my name to force demons out of people. They will speak in languages they never learned. Mark 16:15-17 Easy-to-Read Translation.
On this Saturday morning, the Holy Spirit is reminding us that we have authority in the name of JESUS and we should not be walking around and operating as if we as believers don’t have the authority in JESUS to heal the sick and cast out demons and evil spirits.
Yesterday I learned so much about covenants, evil spirits, and how the enemy operates. And I am sure that’s why the Holy Spirit wanted me to have a REMINDER of WHO He is and who He called us to be! We have the power to cast out evil spirits. PERIOD! We have the power to heal the sick. PERIOD. Don’t let the enemy make you forget WHO you are, because that’s exactly what he wants you to do, forget. But guess what? Holy Spirit sent a fresh reminder to me and to you this morning…WE AS BORN AGAIN BELIEVERS HAVE THE AUTHORITY in the MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS!! AMEN!
