Allow Me

Listen to the podcast version of this blog.

The Word from the Holy Spirit in my conversation this morning was this:

  • You don’t have to do anything but open your arms, your hands, and your heart to receive what I have for you.

  • Don’t allow sinful thoughts or old patterns or unbelief cause your arms to fold, your hands to be clinched, and your heart to be hard.

  • Allow Me!

  • Oh…Allow Me!

  • I WANT to do it!

  • Your prayers are being answered with favor. You’re getting an extra portion. An extra scoop.

  • Allow me to pour pour pour.

As I listened, I imagined Holy Spirit as a gentleman saying, “Oh Allow Me to do that for you. Oh Allow Me to get that for you. Oh Allow Me.” And the more I heard him say, Allow Me, I thought about when Jesus washed the disciples’ feet (John 13). He took the humble role of a servant.

So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him. John 13:4-5 NLT

When I read this, the vision of a waiter at a restaurant came to me. I could see the Holy Spirit waiter saying…Oh Allow Me to get that out of your way. Oh Allow Me to pour more into your cup. Oh Allow me to refill you. Oh Allow Me to refresh that. Oh Allow Me to clean that up. Oh Allow Me to GET THAT FOR YOU! Oh Allow Me to remove the extra plates (clearly I am thinking Waffle House or a place that has a lot of plates to serve the meal). LOL! But what about the extra plates you put on yourself that are weighing you down unnecessarily.

Think about it for a moment. The Holy Spirit said: Allow Me. I want to do it.

The feet washing in scripture also represents to us how we are to serve people in the family of God, especially by helping them when things get dirty.

I am very much known as the person who is usually the one washing the feet or doing the serving. My first job was actually as a server in a restaurant. My role was to ensure that my table was taken care of. As I listened to the Holy Spirit speak to me this morning, He was saying, Allow Me to take care of it ALL. He said, I want to do it.

I am so thankful that the Lord will use a willing vessel to be His hands and feet on earth. Just like He uses me to serve, my level of expectation today is to hear someone say to me…Oh Allow Me. And I am not to dismiss it or resist it. The Lord wants me to simply open my arms, my hands, and my heart to receive everything that He has for me. He said, “Allow Me.” And my response is, “I will Lord. I will.”

And speaking of allowing God to be a gentlemen and do what He wants to do, as I read the 16th chapter of Deuteronomy for the Scriptural Bible Study, verses 16 and 17 stood out. It talks about the men leading the way in worshipping the Lord. Can’t you see it? The man saying, Oh allow me to lead us to worship the Lord. And it says in those verses that no one was to appear before the Lord empty-handed. Everyone must appear with a gift suited to his means, according to the blessing the Lord your God has given you. Again, in reading that, I can see a gentleman with a gift saying, Allow Me. That’s how we should be with God. Allow me to serve you. Allow me to be ON Assignment for you.

I don’t know about you but I am excited about what the Lord is doing today. I am going to be looking for what the Lord said to me during our intimate time together: Allow Me!

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
