Be Faithful, Not Foolish

Today was one of those days where I had to really push myself to my priority…Prayer. I knew the Holy Spirit was waiting on me to get in position. I got there feeling weak, tired, and still sleepy, but I asked Him to use me anyhow. For as long as I have been seeking first the Kingdom of God every morning, I realize that some mornings will be energetic and some won’t, but one thing I won’t do is stop praying. I can’t imagine not having conversations with the Lord every single morning and now multiple times a day. He didn’t make me talkative for naught!

In my prayer time today, I heard the Holy Spirit say: Don’t go backwards.

As I read Psalm 85:8, it made sense.

I will listen to you, Lord God, because you promise peace to those who are faithful and no longer foolish. Psalm 85:8 CEV

The Holy Spirit was telling me to be faithful and not foolish. Don’t go back to doing foolish things. Now what I have come to recognize is that the Holy Spirit will give me instructions and assignments for things that have yet to happen. I used to immediately start trying to figure out what I had done foolish already, but I believe this is a warning to not be foolish in the future. To not look back once I go forward.

I thought about a scripture that I couldn’t remember where it was in the Bible, but I just remember it talking about not going back. It’s Philippians 3:12-14.

12 I have not yet received all these things. I have not yet reached my goal. Christ Jesus took hold of me so that I could reach that goal. So I keep pushing myself forward to reach it. 13 Brothers and sisters, I don’t consider that I have taken hold of it yet. But here is the one thing I do. I forget what is behind me. I push hard toward what is ahead of me. 14 I push myself forward toward the goal to win the prize. God has appointed me to win it. The heavenly prize is Christ Jesus himself. — Philippians 3:12-14 NIRV

Today, let us be encouraged to be faithful and not foolish, but not just for today, for the days ahead as well. We don’t know what tomorrow holds, but we know that our Lord and Savior holds tomorrow. As we spend time with Him, He prepares us for the road ahead. On the road ahead, the sign clearly says: BE FAITHFUL, NOT FOOLISH.

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
