Don't Get In Too Big of a Hurry...It's Coming

Do you like fruit? I love fruit. Matter of fact, I love all fruits. I can’t even think of one right now that I don’t like. If they are sweet and juicy, they are considered delicious to me. But have you ever gotten fruit from the store and it wasn’t ready to eat? You bought it anyway, and you may have even tried to enjoy it prematurely, but it really wasn’t ready to be eaten. That’s what the Holy Spirit said to me today in our conversation.
He said: “Every seed that you have planted is now sprouting up, but don’t pull it up too fast. You want it to be just ripe and ready to eat when it comes.”
As I sat and thought about that for a while, I realized that the Holy Spirit was saying, don’t get in too big of a hurry, it’s coming. What is it? Everything I have planted. All the seeds that I have sown. He is saying, don’t get in too big of a hurry or you’ll end up pulling it out of the ground before it’s all the way ready. MY GOODNESS!!!
I love avocado. They are like the best ever. They are considered a fruit I think. I don’t know. I just know they are sooo good with almost everything. LOL! They are smooth like butter. And glide onto toast like a nice spread of the best thing you ever had in your mouth! Okay Okay. Some of you are like..ewww, I don’t like avocado. Well, you need to try it again until you do. LOL! Just kidding.
But listen y’all, an avocado is one of those fruits where you can’t eat it before time and then when its ripe or when you cut into it, you got to be ready to consume it right then! Okay. Okay. Lord. See the Lord is like, you planted some “avocados” during sowing time and they have sprouted up and are looking green, like they may be ready to eat. But even though avocados are green, there is a certain color green that they need to be in order to be ready to consume. Stay with me, I’m going somewhere.
The Holy Spirit is saying to us this morning, that your fruit is coming, but don’t get so hasty that you pick it too fast because it won’t be ripe and it won’t be as good as it could be!! He saying…hold on Sis, hold on Bro. Don’t dive into it just yet because it hasn’t quite ripened all the way yet! You’ll end up eating your fruit prematurely if you don’t wait. And then it won’t be the best thing you have ever tasted!
I am dropping my podcast mic. That’s a word right there y’all! I pray all the time, Lord, don’t let me get ahead of you. And sometimes I do allow my thoughts to run on ahead. But the Lord is saying to be patient and don’t get in such a hurry that you miss out on the best thing you’ve ever had.
I am excited because that means what’s coming for me (and for you) IS GOING TO BE SOOO GOOD! I’m talking about so good that you dance a happy dance and tell everybody about it. Soooo good that you know, it could only be God that made it THIS GOOD!
Don’t eat what you planted, prematurely!!!!
Seriously, I must have picked the mic up just to throw it back down!!! COME ONNNNN HOLY SPIRIT!!!
The God we serve has the kind of character that will never leave us hanging. He said hold on…it’s coming and when it does, you’re going to be so glad that I made you wait just a little while longer.
Imagine me running excitedly through an orchard field y’all!! I got my basket ready, so when the Holy Spirit says it’s time to pick, I am going to get the prime pickings! Everything I put in my basket is going to be ripe for the picking and taste like the best thing I ever tasted.
Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. Colossians 1:10 NLT
