Don't Make It Harder Than It Is

If you’re anything like me, you have had moments in your life where you just simply out thought yourself. I am talking about times where you have gone into overdrive on your thinking. You look back and the whole day or the whole week or a whole year has passed and you didn’t take action on something that you felt like you had to think about first. You were so busy trying to figure it out that you never actually did anything. Have you ever been there? Or what about when you overthought a situation in your head and made up a whole scenario and it was the furthest from reality?
This morning my prayer time and everything about today’s blog is simple. I got up. I prayed. I heard the Holy Spirit say:
No matter what, I am with you.
Bring it all to me.
Don’t even try to handle the small stuff on your own.
You know what to do.
Do it!
And then as I was preparing to do the blog, He said: Don’t make it harder than it is.
Deep breaths. Come on. Deep breaths. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Do it again. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
No matter what we are going through, our Lord and Savior is WITH US. How crazy is it to overthink an assignment by God? How crazy is it to overthink what He told you to do? How crazy is it to overthink what you know is already done? How crazy is it to overthink what is actually very simple, if we just obey what God says?
I am convinced that overthinking is a trick of the enemy designed to distract us from what God said, doubt who God is in our lives, and throw us off our Kingdom mission, all while making faith seem like it’s hard work. As believers, we are ALREADY victorious. We are ALREADY winners. When you are ALREADY something, why would you have to overthink anything?
When we believe what God said, we don’t have to OUT THINK God’s Word.
So this morning, it’s simple. Just do what God says do. Trust what God said. And if you find yourself experiencing the roller coaster of overthinking, STOP and get off the ride. It will never get you where God is taking you! One thing I know about God, He only takes you up (not up and down like a roller coaster).
Now let’s be about our Father’s business and do what HE HAS ALREADY given us the victory in!
