It’s Simply Time To Obey God!
No more excuses. Obey God.
That’s pretty much what my conversation summed up to this morning with Holy Spirit. But I want to share the conversation exactly and give you scripture to back up what I discerned the voice of God saying to me this morning.
Urgency in obedience
When you try to reason with the change or the new knowledge, it prevents you from being urgently obedient.
My commands are meant to be obeyed, not reasoned with or procrastinated on.
Slow obedience is sinning.
You don’t have to think about it when I have commanded it.
My commands, instructions, and assignments are non-negotiable.
I know the plans, not you.
Trust Me and obey Me…IMMEDIATELY!
A few scriptures that I found as I sought more on this word to urgently obey include Psalms 119:112 CEV and Matthew 7:21 CEV. Of course when the Lord referenced Jeremiah 29:11, I wrote that one down too:
I have made up my mind to obey your laws forever, no matter what. — Psalms 119:112 CEV
A Warning
21 Not everyone who calls me their Lord will get into the kingdom of heaven. Only the ones who obey my Father in heaven will get in. — Matthew 7:21 CEV
I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. — Jeremiah 29:11 GNT
Let me just say this…I have never read the Good News Translation (or at least I don’t remember reading it), but it literally is perfect for what I discerned the voice of God saying this morning. He said: I know the plans, not you. And look at how the Good News Translations pretty much says that!! WOW!
When I was searching out scripture, I found a reference to a devotion from Pastor Rick Warren that said something that let me know I was on the right track in discerning God’s voice. Warren said in one of his devotionals: Understanding can wait, but obedience can’t. Then Warren said: Obedience unlocks understanding.
I don’t know if you remember a previous blogcast where the Lord told me to get understanding. Do you remember that one? Well this lets us know that obedience is the key. But we can’t try to understand before we obey. We must urgently obey God no matter what like Psalms 119:112 CEV says!
And the Lord is warning us in Matthew 7:21. He said it doesn’t matter if you call on the Lord, if you don’t obey, you ain’t going to heaven. I know I paraphrased and translated that Fon style, but read it and allow Holy Spirit to give you revelation on that!
One of the other things that I learned regarding slow obedience is that stalled obedience is a form of rebellion. And we know that rebellion against God is sin.
Bottomline: No more excuses. It simply time to obey God.
P.S. I just love my conversations where the Lord reminds me of what’s important to Him…my obedience! Don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
