Make the Switch with Jesus
Today was one of those mornings where I had pillow talk with the Lord. I was so tired that I just started the conversation from then bed. I prayed but I mostly kept talking the Lord about how tired I have been lately. Now I don’t base my prayer life or completing my assignments on how I feel because I wouldn’t pray everyday or do my assignment here at OABG everyday.
Being On Assignment is non-negotiable and it’s going to happen regardless of how I feel!
Buuuuuut this morning, I was talking the Lord about it. I know in my spirit that now is not the time to vaca the assignment (that means vacation or vacate). Too much is going on in the spiritual realm for us prayer warriors to come off the wall. But I know that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ wants us to depend on Him for strength.
So I prayed in bed. Then I remembered…today is garbage day. Well wouldn’t you know it, that got me right on up because I didn’t want to have garbage in my garage!!! Yikes!
I got up and headed outside to drag the trash down the driveway. It’s a beautiful day outside! The chill woke me up a bit more and I started to pray again. When I got back inside and washed my hands, I went straight to the prayer closet and prayed some more.
That’s when I discerned the voice of God saying…ENDURE. Now earlier in the bed, I had heard that verse about the race is not given to the swift, but when I looked up the scripture, it didn’t have that endure part on it. But I know I had heard that before: the race is not given to the swift but the one who endures to the end. But that ain’t quite what the verse says. Another verse says endure in the book of Matthew. So I didn’t do anything with that.
But as I kept listening after I wrote down ENDURE, I heard the voice of God say: You CAN endure. You WILL endure. Keep praying. Keep fasting. Keep giving.
I wrote it down. I honestly felt like…okay Lord, so they instructions haven’t changed. Got it. LOL!
Then I discerned the voice of God say: You have My LIGHT burden and My easy yoke. You CAN endure, now that you have made the switch. When you came to me humbly in prayer about it, we made the switch. So back to delivering with ease. Back to sweat less victories. You have MY LIGHT burden. You have MY EASY yoke. Act like it. Go forth today knowing it! And when things seem to get heavy, remember…WE MADE THE SWITCH!
I wrote all this down and I went looking for the scripture that the Lord was talking about. Funny thing is, one of the moms at community day saw the tiredness in my face and quoted this verse. Then I laughingly quoted it to my Mom on the phone last night.
Here’s the scripture:
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. — Matthew 11:30 KJV
Y’all look at the scripture numbers! THAT IS TODAY!!!!!!!! 11-30!!!!

SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
